About the Pen
Here is a pen turned from ground coffee (Ethiopia Sidamo). Coffee was mixed with expoxy, and turned on a lathe. It is not edible.
Is this letting me edit other's posts?

Thanks for posting the great photos of your trip to India, Tom. Terrific - it's so interesting to see a bit of the origins of the wonderful beans that you offer to us. Wish we could see all 1350!

Welcome the the beta test image gallery!
Hi all and welcome. I will be moving this to a new server, and if you upload photos (to the community pictures area) or make comments, all will be preserved after the move. You need to Log In to add comments or upload photos. Look to the upper right corner and click Log In to find out more. Thanks - I think this format is going to become a great resource, for both our customers, for others in the coffee trade, and the "coffee curious" people in general. -Tom

not sure
honestly, i am not sure. It is the model befpre the previous generation so it might be late, late '50s through '70s. the reason I jumped on it is the fantastic condition. i probably won't use the grinder, but who knows! -tom

Reneka 50
I got it from a junk dealer in NY state. He thought it had been in a large old hotel in Albany or NYC. It's from the 1930s. I have been working on refurbishing it. A major project but do-able. Hope to have it working by summer. Reneka was sold about 12 years ago and the new owners don't seem very interested in Reneka history. I did find someone in France with a much smaller but similar machine. The metal castings are of incredible workmanship. This was considered to be the first "automatic" coffee/espresso machine. It was designed for the finest large hotels and restaurants.

so highly modified....
I added Doug's image to the gallery as a test. Since it is SOOOO highly modified from it's original Freshroast beginnings, I think it deserves to be in the Home Made category! -Tom
