Trouble with my Andreja Premium

Postby gmclean13 » Fri Feb 05, 2010 8:28 pm

I'm sure I caused this issure, but don't know what is going on. I was putting in a new gasket and shower screen in the 61 head. A bit of the gasket was being stubborn, so I pulled the water resevoir tank out and tipped the machine back on its back to get at the last piece of gasket. That went fine and tipped it back upright. While I had the resevoir out, I went ahead and cleaned the inside. I did take the screw out that holds the stainless section and the float. All were cleaned and let to dry overnight and tehn reassembled. I filled the resevoir up tonight and turned the macine on. Typically you hear a noise as the pump I'm guess is drawing up water. It was total silent. The green power light was on, but no pressure built after an hour. Water coming out was cool and no heat that is typically there. Any ideas? Possible flooding when I tipped it back or ??? Need some adice.

Thanks

This is probably too easy, but any chance you just knocked loose one of the wires to the pressurestat or pump?

You probably have this fixed but make sure the float is not installed upside down.

I had this problem with a new AP if got from SM a couple of years ago and I exchanged it on the spot for another AP that worked (thanks SM!). As the newly bought machine didn't work, I didn't bother troubleshooting the problem, but if this problem developed later and the AP were out of warrantee I would have just opened up the AP and checked the main components and their connections with a multimeter. It's really a simple electromechanical device (heating element, boiler, reservoir, water lines, pump, sensor/relays that detect reservoir water level, temperature and water pressure, and a vibratory water pump that draws water from the reservior to the boiler, etc.

Sounds like there could be a few different problems to cause your AP symptoms. 1) sensor failure (to detect H2O in the reservoir-which would shut off both the pump and the boiler heater); 2) pump failure; and, 3) clogging or other hydraulic flow obstruction (e.g. vapor/siphonage block). Given your symptoms, I think that problem 1 is most likely, and #2 is a close contender.
